360 trees planted through Aberdeenshire SMA Wids award
We were delighted to receive 360 trees through the Aberdeenshire Sma’ Wids award, a charity inspired by His Majesty The King that supports tree planting in the agricultural landscape of Aberdeenshire by encouraging small areas of woodland on underused land.
These trees are now helping us shape another layer of the long-term vision for Gamrie Gardens — adding shelter, biodiversity, habitat, and beauty to the land.
With the help of our wonderful volunteers, we’ve now planted almost all of them, and have been mulching around the young trees with sheep fleece to help protect and nourish them as they get established. We’re nearly finished with this part of the project now, which feels like a real achievement.
We’re so grateful for the support of Aberdeenshire Sma’ Wids, and for everyone who has come along to help get these trees in the ground. It’s exciting to imagine how this planting will grow and shape the gardens in the years to come.
